Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) is the entrance to get to know the uniqueness and importance of the Borneo rain forest.




Is located 23 kilometres from the town of Sandakan and not too far from the Sepilok rehabilitation centre, the main RDC is information with exhibition hall, children's discovery of plant, Kapili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, education programs and environmental activities a small lake for a boat.




RDC, which also gives visitors the chance to get intimate with nature through the nature experience program, which includes a guided walk to Discovery Park plant, walk in the rain forest and indoor/outdoor activities.




In 2009, RDC is also official for the annual Festival of birds of Borneo attracted the participation of the local bird enthusiasts from around the world.




The Centre is open 7 days a week, including public holidays, from 8.00 am-5.00 pm
Sandakan crocodile crocodile Conservation Center is the first licensed in Sabah. It is located in Batu 8, Labuk road, Sandakan. The owner of the Centre, is the owner of several ships of a large fish. Over the years many young crocodiles which were to the public, mainly fishermen who like preserving crocodiles. The amount appears until the 1970s is 1,000 crocodiles, some of which have been slaughtered to obtain valuable to her skin, while its contents were exported with a tasty (for most people) are sold to local people. Until the 1982 Conference of the World Trade Regulations (International Convention Regulating Trade) the Sabah Government had banned killing crocodiles. This crocodile has been with safeguard. Sandakan crocodile farm in this there are about 3000 crocodiles. In addition, the Park also showcases a variety of animals and tropical fish and beautiful.

Agnes Keith

If you ever have to walk along the Palace Avenue in Sandakan, a much-talked about Agnes Keith House is difficult to lose. With the green grass met and colonial-style wooden walls, the residence has now been restored by Sabah Museum, in collaboration with the Museum and antiquity Department. The British colonial government quarters, called Newlands, once occupied by the famous author of the United States, Agnes Newton Keith, who has produced the land below the wind in 1939. Two books followed his first success three came home (1946) and white man returns (1951).

Sepilok hanya di sandakan jooo!!

Sepilok Orang Utan rehabilitation centre is located about 25 kilometers west of Sandakan in Sabah, East Malaysia. The centre opened in 1964 as the orang-utan conservation project is the first official to rescued orphaned baby orang-utans from logging sites, plantations, poaching or kept as pets.The orphaned Orang-utans are trained to survive in the forest and will be released as soon as they are ready. The area is located in the forest reserve, Kabili-Sepilok forest that covers an area of 4304 ha (10610 acres), much of which is virgin forest.Today about 60 to 80 orang-utans live in reserves.It has become one of the tourist attractions in Sabah.

Sandakan Mareee!!!!

Sandakan, formerly known as Elopura is the second-largest city in Sabah, East Malaysia, on the north-eastern coast of Borneo. It is located on the east coast of the island. It is the administrative centre of Sandakan Division and was the former capital of British North Borneo. Sandakan is known as the gateway for ecotourism destinations in Sabah, such as the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Turtle Islands Park, Kinabatangan River and Gomantong Caves. The area is also infamous as the site of a World War II Japanese airfield, now known as Sandakan Airport, which was built by the forced labour of 6,000 Javanese civilians and Allied prisoners of war. In 1945, the surviving Australian prisoners were sent on the Sandakan Death Marches; only 6 of them survived the war During the early 1870s, the east coast of Sabah was under control of the of Sulu, who also ruled what is now the southern Philippines.
